Louis Gardino originally hails from a larger city, but found it hard there to really get into business. So he moved to his current location and opened up his club. And he does very well at it, only hiring the best of the best. He rapidly became what some would think to be a rather prominent member of the community. And he has connections. Very powerful ones. Yet he's not all powerful, of course. There are still some cops who won't flinch at arresting him (not that it does any good; he's back out just hours later). There are even a select few fancy restaurants who won't give him dinner for free. And of course he's scared of no-one. Except for his elderly grandma. She's 85 years old, and she still trys to beat the stuffing out of him every time he swears at the dinner table, or fails to open the door for her.
